THE REUNION: LAGUNA BEACH
ROLE: CREATIVE LEAD, KEY ART & MARKETING CAMPAIGN
CREATIVE CHALLENGE
The reunion carried significant visibility internally as a major cultural moment and a key opportunity to elevate Roku Originals within the unscripted space. The challenge was modernizing the iconic Laguna Beach visual identity in a way that still felt immediately recognizable and emotionally nostalgic to longtime fans. The campaign needed to capture the aspirational, sun-soaked aesthetic of the original MTV era while introducing a more elevated, premium, and contemporary execution for today’s streaming audience.
CREATIVE STRATEGY
The visual direction intentionally referenced the composition, tone, and emotional familiarity of the original Laguna Beach key art while refining the photography, styling, typography, and overall finish to create a more cinematic and premium campaign. The goal was to instantly transport audiences back to the early 2000s while presenting the reunion as a meaningful cultural revisit rather than simply a nostalgic remake.
